In response to the challenges of the pandemic and knowing the benefits of walking meditations, I created a labyrinth in my local park.
Using fallen twigs and branches, a 9 metre diameter circular labyrinth with one continuous, meandering path was constructed. Over time the form changed as the path became well-trodden and as the grass walls grew. The site-specific environmental artwork became a free, community resource that is available 24/7/365. The Labyrinth provides opportunities for contemplation for those of any belief system. As an outdoor, 1 person at a time, no-touch experience, it is a covid-safe activity.
