Walking Scores

Alison

A white woman in a green, black and white fitted dress kneels in a spotlight on a darkened stage. Her arms are outstretched and her head is flung back in a bold gesture of opening to the world / the audience. In front of her is a bowl of water – some of this has spilled on to the stage floor.

Dalton, Susie Rose, Every Waking Moment

101 cylinders made from unfired white stoneware clay stretch off into the distance on a seafront wall. The cylinders are mostly the same size but some of them have clearly collapsed on the wheel or been dented when taking them off. The behind is a dusky pink.

Dalton, Susie Rose, The Usher

A photocopy of one of the editions of The Usher. In it, we can see the popular R&B and pop star, Usher, with a photoshopped mask, and a regular column called ‘Who Fancies Who’, which invited contributions from people on the people they had seen out and about on their permitted exercise or trips to the shop.

The Usher – Susie Rose Dalton and Esmond Sage

Mackenna_Tracy_Castle, Fundilliano_Castello, Fundilliano_2020.jpg-1

A watercolour drawing depicting a structure used to create pre-Roman settlements, work land and stage battle in the municipality of Filignano in Molise, Italy. The structure is gradually being subsumed by a process of re-wilding as the forest reclaims mountain terrain that had been cleared and used for small-scale agricultural production by local citizens.

Outshifts, Henson

Discarded book page with the words ‘happy pills’ visible in grass on a hillside with a tower block in the distance in low evening light.
